Most nutritionists advise against a prolonged fast or liquid diet. One of the most common concerns is the lack of nutrients, protein, fiber, and calories in the diet. 6 Glasses of the lemonade beverage provides less than 700 calories.
7. What kind of maple syrup should I use?
Grade B Organic Maple Syrup is a key ingredient of the Master Cleanse diet. There are four U.S.D.A. approved grades of maple syrup. The earlier sap runs generally produce the lighter grades - Grade A Light Amber and Grade A Medium Amber, which was formerly known simply as Grade A. These lighter grades are mild in taste, sweet and with less mineral content than the darker grades. The mid-season runs generally yield mostly Grade A Dark Amber, formerly known as Grade B. Dark Amber has more mineral content and more "maple" taste. The end of the season brings mostly Grade B, which was formerly known as Grade C, with even more minerals and the strongest maple flavor. All grades can be used in the diet but the darker grades are the most desirable. The grading system is based purely on the relative deepness of the amber coloring and has nothing to do with the quality of the syrup, which is generally about the same for all organically produced maple syrup.
8.Will I feel hungry?
After Day 3 the hunger pangs do subside.
9. What if I feel hungry?
The lemonade is a true “appetite suppressant”, so when you feel hungry, drink a little of the lemonade.
10. Will I feel sick during the diet?
You may feel a stirring in your system for the first two-three days, but this is the result of toxins circulating in your blood stream as the body goes through its first stages of the cleanse. 18. Do I need to take the Laxative?
When you are on the Master Cleanse program , you are effectively eliminating all fiber from your diet. You need to help nature “keep things moving.” It is suggested that you take a laxative herbal tea both in the morning and in the evening. Two to three bowel movements (or more) per day is optimal. As laxatives may be harmful to the system, it is suggested that Triphala be used in the morning to replace the herbal laxative.

Mild cramping is normal, but try changing to adifferent laxative or try adding a peppermint tea bag to your herbal laxative. This really helps!
25. My tongue feels fuzzy and my breath does not feel fresh, what can I do?
This is a reaction as the body is experiencing a change by eliminating toxins. Your tongue will start clearing and will turn a healthy pink as your cleansing progresses. Mint tea may be used occasionally during the diet. The chlorophyll in mint tea helps as a purifier, neutralizing mouth and body odors that are released during the cleansing period.
26. My skin feels dry, why?
Once again this is due to the changes your body is experiencing. Pamper yourself! A hot herbal bath with emollient oils will do wonders.
27. What to do with a headache?
Difficult question! When dieting a slight headache indicates dehydration and low blood sugar; drink a glass of water mixed with a 1/2 tsp of Maple Syrup. If, you are a coffee or soda drinker, then most likely it is caffeine withdrawal, it will go away after the 2nd day.
